Lombard Moves to Phase 4 of COVID-19 Restore Illinois Plan

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has announced that due to decreased COVID-19 positivity rates, Region 8, including Lombard, has left the tiered resurgence mitigations and has moved to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

Phase 4 permits indoor service at restaurants using social distance. Standing areas in bars or restaurants should be limited to 25% capacity. Personal care, health and fitness, and retail store businesses can operate at 50% capacity, and groups of 50 or 50% capacity may convene.

Residents are strongly encouraged to choose to dine and shop locally whenever possible. Supporting local businesses during this time is vital to our community.

Keep Moving in the Right Direction

Region 8’s return from Tiered Mitigation to Phase 4 is due to decreased COVID-19 positivity rates and hospital bed usage. It remains up to each one of us to take personal action to slow the spread of illness.

Increased COVID Rates Could Lead to Increased Mitigations
The IDPH will continue to closely monitor test positivity, ICU bed availability, and the number of people in the hospital with COVID-19. Should data show regions trending in the wrong direction, based on the established mitigation metrics, regions could once again find themselves in a higher tier with increased measures.

Protect Yourself and Your Family with the 3 Ws
The best ways you can protect yourself and your families is to socially distance yourself from people outside of your home, and limit your potential exposure. Let's keep moving forward by practicing the 3 Ws: wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands.

Shop and Dine Local!

Residents are strongly encouraged to choose to dine and shop locally whenever possible. It is our hope that residents will recognize the importance of supporting local businesses at this important time.

Visit the Village's Shop Local Map to find businesses to support.

Customers should expect to comply with social distance and should continue to wear masks in situations when a minimum of 6’ of social distance cannot be maintained.
