Village Receives AT&T Outage Update

The Village has been notified that repair crews from AT&T will be working to repair damage to AT&T underground cables in the southbound curb lane on Main Street between St. Charles Road and Parkside.  The work will last several weeks and will require a lane closure on Main Street. Southbound Main Street will be reduced to one lane from St. Charles. Rd. to Parkside Ave. and the westbound turn lane from northbound Main Street onto St. Charles will also be impacted, as AT&T crews work to fix damaged equipment.  Access to McGuire Drive from Main Street will be temporarily blocked.  AT&T anticipates restoring access to McGuire Drive by Thursday (March 4, 2021).

The damage was a result of directional boring being performed by a contractor working for a private utility.  The damage occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd and resulted in outages for many AT&T customers in Lombard. Temporary repairs have been made; however, the permanent repair will take a few weeks to complete.  The Village will continue to provide updates on the work as information is available.  Customers with service issues should contact AT&T directly at (800) 331-0500.
