Annual Hydrant Maintenance

Lombard Public Works crews will be performing annual hydrant maintenance on over 900 hydrants over a three-week period beginning Monday, May 3rd, 2021.  This work will be completed in the late afternoon/early evening hours and will not cause any disruption to water service to residents or businesses.

Distracted Driving Awareness Month

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month across the nation, and the Lombard Police Department is urging drivers to drop their phones and focus on the road with a not-so-subtle reminder: “Phone in One Hand. Ticket in the Other.”

A car driving at 60 m.p.h. can travel 165 feet in 2 seconds. Taking your eyes off the road for a brief moment can mean the difference between life and death. Drivers are reminded to never use their cell phones behind the wheel and to just drop it and drive!

Update Regarding Cruise Nights and Summer Concerts

On April 21st the Village shared a statement regarding Cruise Nights and Summer Concerts. At present, the Village has NOT CANCELLED the Cruise Night car show events or summer concerts for the 2021 season in their entirety. State guidance and capacity restrictions on large outdoor public events are currently linked to COVID-19 and vaccination metrics. The ability of the State to move to Phase 5 where capacity of festivals and general admission outdoor events are not limited are linked to factors including statewide trends in hospital admissions, mortality rates, ICU bed availability and positivity rates and continues to be a very fluid situation.

In efforts to restore Illinois to Phase 5, we strongly encourage residents to follow the CDC’s recommendations to avoid the spread of illness, including the 3 Ws: wearing a mask, washing hands, and watching your distance and to seek out vaccination opportunities when they are available.
