Illinois Enters Bridge to Phase 5
At a press conference today, May 6th, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that the State of Illinois has entered the Bridge to Phase 5. The Bridge Phase of the State’s Restore Illinois Plan, is the final phase of restrictions before entering Phase 5 with no capacity limits.
Getting to Phase 5
According to The State's COVID-19 website, with more than 50% of residents 16 and older having been vaccinated, if COVID-19 metrics remain stable or decline over a 28-day monitoring period, Phase 5 will be implemented, removing capacity limits altogether. All regions of the state will move through these next phases together based on statewide metrics.
Moving in the Right Direction
In efforts to restore Illinois to Phase 5, residents are strongly encouraged to follow the CDC’s recommendations to avoid the spread of illness, including the 3 Ws: wearing a mask, washing hands, and watching your distance and to seek out vaccination opportunities when they are available.
