9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Thanks to all who attended the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Public Safety Plaza Dedication this past Saturday. The ceremony featured Police and Fire Department Honor Guard and retired Chicago Deputy Fire Chief John McNicholas, who shared his experience on site at Ground Zero. To conclude, the Fire Department Honor Guard led a Bell Ceremony followed by the playing of bagpipes, both to acknowledge the first responders who were lost on that day.

The Village obtained a piece of a steel beam from the World Trade Center, which has been installed at the plaza in memory of those who lost their lives 9/11.
President Giagnorio dedicated the plaza in tribute to the men and women who serve our community each and every day.

This year, the Village of Lombard will host a Services for Seniors event focused on offering seniors access to on-site services. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center, 500 E. Wilson Avenue.

Local agencies will be present to provide basic health services for seniors on-site, which will include: blood pressure screenings, flu shots, hearing screenings, COVID-19 vaccines, balance screenings, fall-risk assessments, glucose screenings, DMV services and additional senior services.

Unlike past Senior Fair events, this year's Services for Seniors Event will be reduced in scale and limited solely to a selection of available on-site services.
