Village Code Ensures Better Pedestrian Access After Snowfall

To help ensure safety on sidewalk segments that are commonly utilized by pedestrians, the Village reminds businesses and property owners of sidewalk snow clearing requirements.

When snowfall occurs, Village Code requires a path clearance minimum of 5 feet wide. The Code also requires that property owners are responsible to clear abutting sidewalks, as well as the sidewalk areas that lead up to intersections on corners. Learn more.

Lombard's Free Leaf Collection Program is Underway

The Village's free fall leaf pick-up program will run through Friday, Dec. 10. During this time, residential property owners may place an unlimited amount of paper bags filled with only leaves at their curb for free pick up on their regular collection day.

Although the free pick-up ends Dec. 10, the general Yard Waste Program ends Dec. 17. If bags of leaves are put out after Dec.10, they will require a yard waste sticker.
