Holiday Light Recycling is Back

Recycle your old or unwanted holiday lights, extension cords and scrap wiring this holiday season. The Village of Lombard has partnered with Elgin Recycling to offer residents holiday light recycling from Nov. 25 through Jan. 17, 2022. A collection bin is located in front of the Public Works building and is accessible at any hour. Please remove any plastic ornamentals and bags from the lights and chords to prevent entangling in the processing machinery—similar to curbside recycling.

Fire Department Deploys AutoPulse

Earlier this week, the Lombard Fire Department placed its ZOLL AutoPulse® Resuscitation System in service which provides high-quality, uninterrupted CPR for patients that suffer sudden cardiac arrest. The AutoPulse frees up paramedics to quickly administer other life-saving measures such as breathing and medications while also providing nonstop CPR during patient movement and transport—therefore increasing a person’s chance of survival. Shop Small this Small Business Saturday - Nov. 27

This Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27, is a day dedicated to supporting the independent businesses that make our communities unique and provide valuable contributions to our economy. Residents who spend tax dollars in town not only support small businesses but those dollars are reinvested in the community in impactful ways.

It is estimated that for every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, $73 remains in the local economy. Compared to the same $100 spent at a non-locally owned business, where only $43 remains in the local economy.

Support small businesses in Lombard, shop local this holiday season and beyond!

  • Improving roadway safety for cars, buses, pedestrians, and bicyclists.
  • Enhancing multi-modal connections between the corridor and nearby parks and open space.
