Winter Tree Pruning Underway

The Village of Lombard’s winter tree pruning program is underway and will continue through April 2022. The designated area scheduled for pruning is between S Addison Avenue and S Grace Street, from east to west, and St. Charles Road to Wilson Avenue, from north to south.

The pruning work will be done using in-house Forestry staff and a private tree maintenance firm contracted by the Village of Lombard. Trees will be pruned according to professional standards set forth within the tree care industry.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over This Holiday Season

With holiday festivities rapidly approaching, the Lombard Police Department announced that it will participate in a statewide impaired driving awareness campaign. From Dec. 17 through Jan. 3, Lombard Police will have extra enforcements on the road cracking down on impaired drivers during the winter holidays.

“Driving impaired, whether under the influence of alcohol or drugs, can have catastrophic consequences and is illegal in every state. Not only do you put yourself at risk, but the lives of others as well,” said Dan Herrera, Lombard Traffic Safety Unit Officer.

A detour is in place directing motorists around the block on Charlotte St, Maple St and Main St.  Access
to the commuter parking spaces and the three residential driveways remain accessible from Charlotte St as “local traffic.”

Shop Local Lombard

This holiday season, the Village is continuing to encourage residents to shop local whenever possible.
