Make the Right Play, Designate a Sober Driver for the Super Bowl

The Lombard Police Department will be conducting special patrols throughout Super Bowl weekend to crack down on impaired drivers and encourage people to wear their seat belts. If your Super Bowl plans involve alcohol or marijuana, make the right play and pass your keys to a sober driver.

“We know friends will gather to cheer on their favorite team and raise a glass or two on Super Bowl Sunday,” said Traffic Safety Unit Patrol Officer Dan Herrera. “We urge our residents and visitors to enjoy these Super Bowl parties responsibly and remind them that we’ll be out in full force to help ensure everyone makes it home safely.”

Be a 'Hydrant Hero' this Winter

Did you know that a fire can double in size every minute?

In an emergency every second counts – and when a fire hydrant is covered in snow, crews lose precious time trying to dig it out.

Help protect your family and neighbors when seconds count by becoming a Hydrant Hero. Residents who have hydrants near their homes are asked to make sure the hydrant is cleared of snow 3 feet all around the hydrant so firefighters can easily connect a hose. These actions will allow the fire department to quickly locate the fire hydrant and obtain the necessary water supply for firefighting.

Hammerschmidt Parking Lot Temporary Closure

Due to low demand and to minimize plowing and salting of the commuter facilities during winter storm events, the Hammerschmidt Commuter Parking Lot will be closed beginning February 14, 2022. Consistent with last year’s closure, the Lot will reopen in the spring.

Commuter parking is still available in the St. Charles East Lot, the Parkside East Lot, the Parkside West Lot and the Park-Elizabeth Lot.

If you have any questions, please contact the Village at 630-620-5700. For additional parking information, visit www.villageoflombard.org/parking.
