Recognizing National Public Works Week
National Public Works Week is May 15-21 and this year’s theme is "Ready and Resilient". The "Ready & Resilient" theme highlights the ability of these professionals to perform routine public works duties while being ready at a moment's notice when emergencies and natural disasters arise.
The Lombard Public Works Department plays a significant role in our daily lives, ensuring the roads are ready to use and water is of the highest quality and safe to drink. The department is responsible for construction, maintenance, and repair of the Village's infrastructure and grounds/facilities (i.e., repairing streetlights, filling potholes, trimming parkway trees, replacing damaged sidewalks); and street, water, and sewer related emergency services (i.e., water main breaks). Our Public works superheroes make our community such a great place to live and work!
