Cruise Nights Series Finale: Sat, Aug 27th Featuring 7th Heaven 


The FINAL Cruise Night & Summer Concert of the season is this Saturday, Aug. 27th, featuring 7th Heaven. To accommodate the anticipated large crowd size, the concert stage will be located just west of the intersection of St. Charles Road and Main Street. 

The show starts at 6:00 p.m. A
ttendees may arrive any time after 4 p.m., and chairs are allowed. Concert-goers, aged 21 or older with proper identification, will be able to purchase alcohol from participating licensed businesses for consumption outdoors within the defined concert area.  No outside alcohol will be permitted. 

ST. CHARLES ROAD CLOSURE
Be advised that road closures begin at 3 p.m. They include 
St. Charles closed to through traffic from Elizabeth St. to Main St., with a complete closure of St. Charles at Park Ave. to Main Street.

Madison Street Roadwork Begins Aug. 29th


Beginning Monday, August 29th, the Village’s contractor will begin diamond grinding on Madison St between Main St and Grace St. The work is being performed to improve the rideability of the roadway, and weather permitting, is expected to take approximately one week to complete.

The road will remain open to traffic; however, lane closures will be in the immediate work zone. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with traffic control, and motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution while driving through the work zone.

The Village of Lombard is grinding tree stumps located in the parkways throughout the Village. As a reminder, please do not park vehicles on the street adjacent to stumps that have been flagged for utility locates.

To date, more than 50% of the work has been completed!

Lombard Police Awarded 1st Place in Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge


The Lombard Police Department is pleased to announce that the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Committee awarded the Department first place in their 2021 Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge (ITSC) for its commitment to highway safety in the community. The Department also received the Judge’s Choice Award for the best agency submission. 

“Traffic safety remains a top priority of the Lombard Police Department, and receiving these awards distinguishes our Department as one of the top agencies in the State for our overall approach to traffic safety,” commented Police Chief Roy Newton. “Our officers work tirelessly to help keep our village roadways safe for residents, businesses and visitors.”

Labor Day Campaign for Safe and Sober Driving

As families and friends plan their end-of-summer celebrations for Labor Day weekend, the Lombard Police Department is partnering with the Illinois State Police and law enforcement across the state to stop impaired driving and help save lives. 
 
The high-visibility “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign runs from Aug. 19 through the early-morning hours of Sept. 6. During this period, law enforcement will be stepping up efforts focused on impaired, unbuckled and distracted drivers.

Honor a Worthy Senior Citizen for Village Recognition! 


Do you know a senior citizen that deserves some recognition? Maybe a family member or neighbor that deserves a thank you? Nominate them for the 17th Annual Senior of the Year Awards!

Nominees and winners will be recognized at the Village's Senior Fair on October 5th, at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center. Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee. 

 All nominations must be received by 4:30 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, for consideration. The Community Relations Committee will vote for the winner on Monday, September 12, 2022. Nominees and winners will be notified and announced publicly.
