Free Leaf Collection Program

Lombard’s annual six-week free leaf pick-up for residents will begin Monday, Nov. 7, and end Friday, Dec. 16, when all yard waste collection will cease for the year. 

During this time, residential property owners may place an unlimited amount of paper bags containing only leaves curbside on their normal Waste Management collection day without stickers. 

St. Charles Road Closure this Sunday

A road closure will be in place this Sunday, October 23rd, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Downtown Lombard for the 2022 Spooktacular event hosted by the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce.

St. Charles Road will be CLOSED from Lincoln Avenue through Main Street and will include a detour to Grove Street.

Motorists traveling in and around Downtown Lombard are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and be aware of increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic associated with the event.

Fall Tree Planting Time Begins

Fall is in full swing, and did you know it is a great time for tree planting? Apex Landscaping began planting trees in Village parkways on Friday, October 14th, for Lombard's Fall Tree Planting program. The Village will plant 298 trees from three nurseries over the next two weeks.

After installation, the trees will be inspected and mulched by Lombard Forestry personnel with after care instruction door hangers left for the adjacent residents. Residents at locations where trees are scheduled to be planted were notified by mail in early September. 

Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 29th

Join the Village of Lombard for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 29th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lombard Police Department, 235 E. Wilson Ave.

The event aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. 

Early Voting in DuPage County

Beginning Monday, Oct. 24th, 22 early voting locations for the 2022 General Election will open across DuPage County. 

As part of the “Vote Anywhere” initiative, DuPage County voters may cast ballots at any Early Voting location and any Election Day polling place.
