Help Keep Leaves Away from Storm Drains
With the fall colors now coming down, residents are asked to help clear fallen leaves from storm drain inlets to prevent street flooding. Lombard Public Works operates two street sweepers that do their best to remove leaves that have fallen directly onto streets.
Raking or blowing leaves into a street is unlawful, and violations may be reported to Code Enforcement at (630) 620-5757, codeenforcement@villageoflombard.org, or through this link.
Free 6-Week Leaf Collection Program: Nov. 7 - Dec. 16 During this time, residential property owners may place an unlimited amount of paper bags containing only leaves curbside on their normal Waste Management collection day without stickers.

Smash your Pumpkins on Nov. 6Don't trash it, smash it! Green your Halloween this year and compost your pumpkin on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Lombard Commons Park from 9 am to 12 pm.
This helps keep pumpkins out of landfills and reduces the amount of harmful greenhouse gasses being released into the environment.

During last week's Village Board meeting, Lombard resident Sarah Vogel, Police Officer E. Gouty, Firefighter/Paramedics Ryan Carlson, Rob Blockinger, Tyler Gunn, Bob Hopper, and Fire Lt. Joe Shark were recognized for their lifesaving actions last month.
On the morning of Sunday, September 25th, Michael Volyanyuk, a 25-year-old Lombard resident was finishing a 5-mile run with his girlfriend when he suddenly suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed on the Prairie Path. Fortunately, his girlfriend, a teacher trained in CPR, recognized that he was in cardiac arrest and quickly provided high-quality continuous CPR while another bystander called 911. Du-Comm, our 911 dispatch center, dispatched the Lombard Fire Department and Police Department to the scene.
