Shop Small, Shop Local

This Small Business Saturday, Nov. 26, is a day dedicated to supporting the independent businesses that make our communities unique and provide valuable contributions to our economy. Residents who spend tax dollars in town not only support small businesses, but those dollars are reinvested in the community in impactful ways.

It is estimated that for every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, $73 remains in the local economy. Compared to the same $100 spent at a non-locally owned business, where only $43 remains in the local economy.

Support small businesses in Lombard, shop local this holiday season and beyond!

Holiday Light Recycling

Do you have old, broken or unwanted holiday lights? The Village of Lombard has partnered with Elgin Recycling to offer free holiday light recycling from Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24th, through Jan. 16th, 2023.

An outdoor collection bin located outside of Lombard Public Works, 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Ave, is available at any hour of the day to recycle your old holiday lights, extension cords and scrap wiring.

Please remove any ornaments and bags to prevent entangling in the processing machinery. Plastic bags and other films should also never be included in curbside recycling for the same reason.
