Drive Merry, Bright and Sober This Holiday Season With the holidays in full swing, the Lombard Police Department is partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation to remind motorists about the dangers of impaired driving. From Dec. 16 through Jan. 2, law enforcement across Illinois will step up enforcement efforts with a high visibility “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI.” traffic safety campaign.
“We want everyone in our communities to enjoy the holidays without worrying about the dangers of impaired drivers,” said Lombard Traffic Safety Unit Officer Dan Herrera. “During the campaign, you can expect to see extra safety patrols. We will show zero tolerance for alcohol- and drug-impaired driving to help ensure everyone makes it to and from their holiday festivities safely.”

2023 Water and Sewer Rates and Online Payment Options Beginning in January 2023, the Village’s water rate will be $9.50 and sewer rate will be $7.00 per 1,000 gallons of water used for customers inside the village limits. This cost reflects a 40-cent increase per 1,000 gallons of water, compared to 2022. The average Lombard home (73% of customers) uses 5,000 gallons of water each month, which equates to a price increase of $2.00 per month, or $24 for the year. The Village receives its water from the City of Chicago. As Chicago raises its rates, the Village must also raise its rates in order to purchase wholesale water from the City of Chicago, and to fund operating expenses and capital improvements.
Additionally, the Village’s monthly capital fee will increase from $5.50 to $5.75. This capital fee was implemented in 2020. This fee will help to fix and replace aged infrastructure, which will require approximately $31,085,000 for sewer improvements $14,711,000 for water system improvements.
