Happy New Year Lombard

The Village of Lombard wishes you and your family a happy and healthy new year! As a reminder, Village offices will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the holiday. Emergency services will remain available 24/7. Village offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Waste Management Collection Schedule
Waste Management will observe the holiday on Monday, and pick-ups will be delayed by one day throughout the week (Jan. 2 - Jan. 7).

Drive Sober This Holiday Season

Lombard Police have extra enforcements on the road, cracking down on impaired driving during the winter holidays.

Please have fun and enjoy the New Year's holiday, but remember to stay safe and drive sober. Keep these tips in mind to help ensure a safe and joyful holiday weekend:

Before you head to the party, designate a sober driver or plan to use public transportation or a ride-sharing service to get home safely.
If you see an impaired driver on the road, pull over and call 911.
Have a friend who is about to drive impaired? Take their keys and help them get home safely.
Always buckle up!

Wrapping up the Holidays

As many begin to wrap up the holidays, Public Works shares some reminders:

Free Holiday Tree Pick Up Jan. 3 - 13
Residents may place holiday trees, free of tinsel and decorations, at their curbsides, January 3-13, for free disposal.

Light Recycling Through Jan. 16
Old or unwanted holiday lights may be dropped off in a bin at Lombard Public Works, 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Avenue, to be recycled by Elgin Recycling. The light collection will run through January 16th. Lights should be placed in the bin located in front of the building anytime (24/7). Please remove plastic ornamentals and bags from the wiring to prevent entangling in the processing machinery.

Village's Winter Blood Drive: Jan. 10

January is National Blood Donor Appreciation Month and Lombard's winter blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Yorktown outside of Von Maur and from 1:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the First Church of Lombard Fellowship Hall, 220 S. Main Street.

All donors will receive a warm beanie as a thank you.

Every two seconds, someone needs blood. Make that New Year’s resolution – be someone’s hero - safe a life – become a blood donor.

Report Potholes and Other Concerns with SeeClickFix

The Village has launched a new online reporting platform called SeeClickFix. This tool allows users to report their concerns directly to the Village by using an online map or smartphone app.

SeeClickFix is an easy way to report non-emergency issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Use SeeClick Fix to report concerns such as potholes, street lights, graffiti, sidewalk trip hazards, storm drain issues, code violations, and more. Simply take a photo of the problem (or just enter a brief description), and Village staff will address the issue. You will get an update via email on what is being done to resolve your reported concern.
