The "No Mow 'til Mother's Day" Initiative Ends on May 14th 

As Mother's Day approaches, the Village of Lombard extends its sincere gratitude to the more than 600 households that participated in the first-ever "No Mow 'til Mother's Day" initiative. Your overwhelming support not only offered a haven for pollinators but also fostered a strong sense of environmental awareness in our community. 

Residents are reminded that regular lawn care code enforcement will resume on Monday, May 22nd, one week after Mother's Day. It is kindly requested that all residents follow the established guidelines for lawn maintenance in Lombard. This will contribute to the overall well-being and aesthetics of the community. 

Due to the large number of signs distributed, Public Works staff will not collect them. Rather, those that received a sign should retain it. The Village Board and staff will be evaluating the program to determine whether changes are necessary as we look at 2024.

2023 Cop on a Rooftop on May 19

SAVE THE DATE! On Friday, May 19th, Lombard police officers will be staking out Dunkin’ rooftops in Lombard from 5 a.m. - noon to raise awareness and donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), which supports Special Olympics Illinois. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while showing your support for these amazing athletes! 

Participating Lombard Dunkin' locations include: 

• 1160 S Main St
• 411 E North Ave
• 85 Yorktown Shopping Ctr.

All guests who donate to the Torch Run will receive a coupon for a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive a LETR/ Dunkin’ branded travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.  Lombard officers will also have Torch Run merchandise for sale with proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Illinois.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s all do our part to reduce the stigma and educate our friends and family. Remember, it's okay to ask for help when you need it. Participate in the Village's “Hidden Gems of Lombard” Photo Contest 

The Village of Lombard is hosting its annual photo contest during Lilac Time with this year’s theme, “Hidden Gems of Lombard.” The contest will run from May 5 through May 28, 2023, and is open to Lombard residents and visitors. 

All photographers, whether amateur or experienced, are encouraged to submit their photos capturing the beauty of Lombard's hidden gems - the special places that make Lombard a unique and wonderful place to live, work and visit. Whether it's a hidden park, a unique business, or a local landmark, we want to see the hidden gems that make Lombard shine.

Help keep our Village safe and beautiful; use SeeClickFix to report issues you come across. With over 200 reports submitted, SeeClickFix is already making a significant impact in Lombard! 

SeeClickFix is an easy way to report non-emergency issues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Use SeeClick Fix to report concerns such as potholes, street lights, graffiti, sidewalk trip hazards, storm drain issues, code violations, and more. Simply take a photo of the problem (or just enter a brief description), and Village staff will address the issue. You will get an update via email on what is being done to resolve your reported concern.

Village Provides Update on 2021-2024 Strategic Plan

On April 13th, the Village of Lombard held a special Board of Trustees Meeting where Village staff provided a detailed and comprehensive update on the progress of the 2021-2024 Strategic Plan.

Village staff presented a detailed overview, including a thorough analysis of each strategic priority, outlining key achievements and challenges. Staff also provided a comprehensive analysis of the data and metrics used to track progress towards the identified objectives, highlighting areas of success and those requiring additional work.
