"Click It or Ticket" This Memorial Day Weekend
The Lombard Police announced it is stepping up enforcement for the Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” campaign that will run May 19-30 and reminds motorists to buckle up for safety. The “Click It or Ticket” campaign focuses on safety education and law enforcement to save lives.
“Seat belts have proven to be life-saving in the event of a crash,” said Administrative/Traffic Sergeant Tom Balsitis. “Unfortunately, many still don’t buckle up. Worse yet, not wearing a seat belt is a habit that can be passed on to younger generations who follow the example set by their elders.”

National Public Works Week: May 21-27 National Public Works Week is May 15-21 and this year’s American Public Works Association (APWA) 2022 National Public Works Week theme is "Connecting the World Through Public Works." This year's theme highlights the way public works professionals connect us physically through infrastructure and inspire us through their service to the community. Whether as first responders or daily workers carrying out their duties with pride, they play a vital role.
The Lombard Public Works Department contributes to the safety and smooth functioning of our community every day. They maintain our roadways, ensure the highest quality and safety of our drinking water, oversee construction projects, and are always prepared to address street, water, and sewer-related emergencies at a moment's notice. They are what makes our community such a great place to live, work, and visit. Join us in celebrating the quiet work these professionals do that makes life better for all of us.
