Mosquito Abatement

Rain Brings Mosquitoes: Fight the Bite!

Annoyed by mosquitoes? The Village contracts with Clarke Mosquito to kill larvae in catch basins and standing waters. Due to recent rains, floodwater mosquitoes that may breed even in puddles are abundant. While these mosquitoes do not carry West Nile Virus, they are a nuisance best managed in backyards by a can of yard spray.

The risk of WNV is currently low according to the DuPage County Health Department, and the species that may carry WNV typically increase in population later in summer and in fall.
