Intelligentsia Bicycle Tournament in downtown Lombard, July 23 The Intelligentsia Cup Series will feature the Lombard Cycling Classic in downtown Lombard, on Tuesday, July 23, with the first race scheduled for 10 a.m. and the last race at 6:47 p.m. This event is hosted by the DuPage County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Race Course & Road ClosuresClosures will begin at 4:00 a.m. The course includes the closure of Michael McGuire Drive and St. Charles Rd. in downtown Lombard. NO vehicles will be able to cross the course during closures. Pedestrians will be able to cross at designated crossing points marshaled by race staff.
Commuter ImpactCommuter parking on Michael McGuire Drive will not be accessible on this day. Two hour street parking restrictions near the event will be temporarily lifted to help accommodate motorists, and additional parking spaces at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church have been arranged.
Kids' RaceA free kids' race will be open to the public for all children ages 9 and under. Children must supply their own bikes and helmets, and must arrive no later than 6 p.m. Registration required.

Recreational Cannabis 101 Workshop The State of Illinois has approved the use of recreational cannabis, beginning Jan. 1, 2020. While local governments do not have jurisdiction over that decision, the consideration of zoning associated with potential future recreational cannabis facilities will be discussed.
The Village Board will be hosting an informational,open-to-the-public Recreational Cannabis 101 Workshop on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m., at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave.

Lombard to Receive $500,000 from Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan Lombard will receive more than $500,000 to fund infrastructure improvements through the new Rebuild Illinois capital plan.
The funding is allocated for the following projects/improvements:
- $125,000 for general street construction/pedestrian safety
- $50,000 for capital projects
- $213,000 for the planned Highland Sewer Improvements Project
- $150,000 for Woodrow drainage improvements
