Illinois Speed Awareness Day Results

Lombard Police recognized Illinois' Speed Awareness Day on Wednesday, July 24. On this one day, officers stopped 164 vehicles, issued 86 tickets, made one DUI arrest, and more.

In 2015, speed was the reason for 34% of all fatal crashes. That's 369 deaths for the year, or one life every 24 hours, that might have been avoidable. Driving the posted speed limit could save your life.

Recreational Cannabis 101 Workshop

The Village Board will be hosting an informational,open-to-the-public Recreational Cannabis 101 Workshop on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m., at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave.

The State of Illinois has approved the use of recreational cannabis, beginning Jan. 1, 2020. While local governments do not have jurisdiction over that decision, the consideration of zoning associated with potential future recreational cannabis facilities will be discussed.
