Nominate a Senior of the Year The Village of Lombard is seeking nominations for its 14th Annual Senior of the Year Awards, which recognizes outstanding seniors who volunteer or go above and beyond to positively benefit the Lombard community. Nominees and winners will be recognized at the Village's Senior Fair on October 2, at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center.
Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee.

Officers to Participate in Special Olympics of Illinois Fundraiser Lombard Police Officers will be at Culver's on Main Street, near Roosevelt Rd., on Thursday, August 29, 4 - 8 p.m., raising funds for Special Olympics of Illinois. Officers will be serving you and all money raised will be donated to the Special Olympics of Illinois. Stop by and meet a Special Olympics athlete!

Fire Department Safety Rating Increases: Could Decrease Your Insurance Costs The Lombard Fire Department is pleased to announce that it has achieved an Insurance Service Office (ISO) Class 2 rating. On a scale from 1 – 10 with 1 being the highest/best, Lombard has improved from a 3 to a 2 rating. ISO ratings are used by insurance companies to determine homeowner insurance rates and Lombard’s successful rating could decrease insurance costs for homeowners and commercial businesses (based on independently determined rates set by insurance companies).

Drive Sober Get Pulled Over: Roadside Safety Check August 17 Lombard Police will be participating in this year's Labor Day, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, from Aug. 16 through the Sept. 3, including a roadside safety check on Butterfield Rd. on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 17.

Fire Department Pink T-Shirts Available For Purchase Lombard Firefighters will once again wear pink shirts throughout the month of October, in an effort to raise awareness during breast cancer awareness month. Shirts will be available for public purchase, August 1 - 31, in order to raise funds for people receiving cancer treatment at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Shirts will be available for purchase for $15 throughout August. All orders must be made by August 31, 2019. All proceeds will go to the Bhorade Cancer Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. To place orders please email Firefighter Bob Hopper at LFDPINK@yahoo.com or call (708)769-6102.

Sign Up For Lombard's Citizen's Police Academy The Lombard Police Department invites citizens living or working in Lombard to participate in Lombard’s 29th Citizen’s Police Academy, beginning Sept. 10, 2019. The academy provides an understanding of modern police procedures and the challenges offers face.
Participants will get hands-on experience of police work, and will learn about topics including traffic stops, firearm training, search and seizure laws, police dog protocols and training, and more!

Park Ave., and St. Charles Rd., on Saturday, August 24, to mark the end of the 2019 Cruise Nights and Summer Concert season.
