Chicago Fire Stars Wear Lombard Fire Department Pink T-Shirts

David Eigenberg and Kara Killmer from NBC’s Chicago Fire are showing their support for the Lombard Fire Department, by wearing their 2019 Pink T-Shirts. The Lombard Fire Department’s fundraiser began in 2014 and has helped to raise more than $10,000 for people in treatment at Bhorade Cancer Care Center at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Lombard Firefighters will be wearing the shirts throughout October. 

Drunk Driving is Scary: Drive Sober 

The Lombard Police Department is urging motorists to commit to sober driving this Halloween when children and their families will be walking through neighborhoods after dark in search of candy and spooky fun. If you plan on drinking, remember to plan for a sober ride home.

Free Six-Week Leaf Pick Up Program Begins November 4 

Lombard’s annual six-week free leaf pick-up for residents begins Monday, Nov. 4 and ends Friday, Dec. 13, when all yard waste collection will cease for the year.

During this time, residential property owners may place an unlimited amount of paper bags containing only leaves curbside on their normal Waste Management collection day without need of stickers.

Trick-Or-Treating Safety Tips 

In efforts to help minimize unsafe situations, parents are requested to limit trick-or-treating on Thursday, October 31, from 3 p.m., to no later than 7 p.m., and are encouraged to plan for a safe Halloween with a few safety tips.
