On Nov. 7th, businesses requested that the Village Board discuss extending the video gaming trial, due to a slow licensing process.

Fire Department Toy Drive and Parade

Fire Department Toy Drive Collecting Items for Local Families 


Help make the season a little bit brighter for a local family by donating a new, unwrapped toy with the Fire Department Toy Drive. Donations benefit the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry, the Outreach House, and the Teen Parent Connection. 

Locations include: 

  • Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles
  • Fire Station 44, 2020 S. Highland Ave.
  • Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave
  • Schroeder’s Ace Hardware: 837 S Westmore-Meyers Rd
  • Clark Orthodontics 23 N Main St, Lombard,
  • Sunset Knolls Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Rd.
  • Madison Meadows Athletic Center: 500 E. Wilson Ave.


Fire Department Toy Parade
Residents are invited to attend the Fire Department Toy Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 a.m. The Fire Department, along with volunteers and community groups, will depart Fire Station 45 at 50 E. St. Charles at 10:15 a.m., and will proceed south on Main Street to Glenbard East High School, collecting toys and donated items along the way. 


Keep the wreath red

Keep The Wreath Red: Fire Safety


The Fire Department will display a holiday wreath on the outside of both fire stations. The wreaths will be decorated with red light bulbs. If a fire occurs in our community that is attributed to holiday decorations, one red bulb will be replaced with a white bulb. Our goal is to Keep the Wreaths Red!  This Year’s program will begin Thanksgiving Day, November 28th and end on January 1, 2020.


Shop With a Cop

Lombard Police to Host Shop With A Cop 2019 


On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Lombard Police Department and the Lombard Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will host its 21st Annual Shop with a Cop event. Donations may be made at the Lombard Police Station. Anyone wishing to make a donation to this year's Shop With A Cop, can do so by dropping the donation off at the Lombard Police station.

Thanksgiving Safety Tips and Reminders


Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over: Nov. 22 - Dec. 2
As Illinoisans gear up for one of the busiest travel times of the year, the Lombard Police Department announced its plans for a traffic safety campaign focusing on impaired and unbuckled drivers.

The Lombard Police Department is partnering with the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement across Illinois for the increased statewide effort. The high-visibility Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, from Nov. 22 through the holiday weekend into the early morning hours of Dec. 2.

Village Offices to Close for Thanksgiving Holiday
Village Offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday Nov. 29 for Thanksgiving. Offices will reopen for regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on Monday, December 2.
