Drive Sober Thanksgiving

Keep Our Streets Safe: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over! 


The Lombard Police Department will have extra patrols on the road through December 2, seeking out impaired drivers and seat belt violators.  Lombard is partnering with the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement across Illinois for the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Thanksgiving campaign. 

If you plan on drinking this holiday weekend, plan on a sober ride home! 


Thanksgiving 2019

Village Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday


Village Offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 for Thanksgiving. Offices will reopen for regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on Monday, December 2. 

Waste Management will be operating on a holiday schedule. Thursday and Friday collection will be delayed by one day. 


Shop With A Cop

Shop-With-A-Cop: Dec. 7 

On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Lombard Police Department and the Lombard Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will host its 21st annual Shop-With-A-Cop event. Donations may be made at the Lombard Police Station.

“We love being Lombard Police Officers and Shop-With-A-Cop is a great way for us to give back to the community that we care so much about,” said Sgt. Joe Menolascino. “While we love being able to help make the holiday season brighter for these families, the true gift is being able to connect with our residents. These are amazing kids and we’re proud to be part of this program.” 


Fire Department Toy Drive and Parade

Help local families this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys and items to the Fire Department Toy Drive. Donations benefit the Lombard/Villa Park Food Pantry, the Outreach House, and the Teen Parent Connection. Collection sites are available throughout the community including: 

  • Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles
  • Fire Station 44, 2020 S. Highland Ave.
  • Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave
  • Schroeder’s Ace Hardware: 837 S Westmore-Meyers Rd
  • Clark Orthodontics 23 N Main St, Lombard,
  • Sunset Knolls Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Rd.
  • Madison Meadows Athletic Center: 500 E. Wilson Ave.

Kick off the holiday season with JingleBell Jubilee in Lilacia Park and Downtown Lombard, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 5-8 p.m! Be there for the lighting of Lilacia Park at 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Nov. 7th, businesses requested that the Village Board discuss extending the video gaming trial, due to a slow licensing process.
