FAQs
How does this benefit me?
Less flooding and better drainage
Improvements to the basin and pump station will help the system work more efficiently during heavy rain. That means a lower risk of water in your yard or street, and more reliable performance when storms hit.
Cleaner water and a healthier environment
The upgraded basin will better filter out pollutants, sediment, and debris before water flows downstream. This improves local water quality and supports healthier plants and wildlife in the area.
Protection of property and infrastructure
Stabilizing the streambanks will reduce erosion, helping protect nearby properties, utilities, and public infrastructure from long-term damage.
A more attractive neighborhood
The project will enhance the look and accessibility of the area by removing the existing fence and adding a sidewalk along the west side of Finley Road. This creates a more open, visually appealing space that can improve neighborhood character and may positively influence property values.
Will my road be closed? Finley Road and Charles Lane will be subject to lane reductions or short delays for material deliveries or construction activities by the Finley Road and Charles Lane Pumping Stations and at the Finley Road and Charles Lane intersection.
If my driveway is inaccessible, where do I park? Driveways should be accessible, subject to some delays related to pump station renovations and construction traffic.
Will my water or sewer service be affected? No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.
