UPDATE - July 4, 2022:
Consistent with the recommendation of the DuPage County Public Safety Committee and the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office to cancel all mass gatherings, other communities, and, out of an abundance of caution, the Village of Lombard has CANCELLED tonight’s 4th of July Fireworks Display.
The decision to cancel the fireworks display was not made lightly but was made with the safety of all attendees in mind. Although there have been no incidents or direct threats to Lombard, Lombard Police continue to monitor the situation.
We are saddened by the tragic events that occurred today in Highland Park. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and the greater Highland Park community.
The event will be rescheduled at a later date when it is both safe and appropriate. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
