2025 Taxes (2024 Tax Levy)

The 2024 property tax levy was presented to the Finance & Administration Committee at their meeting on August 26, 2024, at which time, they voted to recommend the statutorily permissible tax levy, a 6.52% increase for 2024, to the President and Board of Trustees. In addition, the Committee recommended that the levy increase be set aside specifically for public safety building needs.

On October 3, 2024, a Public Hearing was held for the 2024 tax levy.  The second/final reading was held on October 17, 2024, at which time the 2024 tax levy was approved by The Village Board of Trustees.  The 6.52% statutorily permissible increase equates, on average, to $20.02 for a $300,000 home. This varies for each property depending on the value assigned by the assessor's office.

Property Tax Allocation

The Village of Lombard receives less than 8% of the total tax bill, meaning that less than $0.08 of every dollar paid in property taxes will go to the Village to help fund core services, including public safety provided by Police and Fire Departments; road, sewer, and water maintenance from Public Works; building and code enforcement from Community Development, and responsible long-term financial planning from the Finance Department.
